1960's WILSON FOLMAR PINK BEADED BOMBSHELL COCKTAIL DRESS
Dazzling 60s vintage fitted wiggle dress will be the hit at summer cocktail parties.
Beautiful, soft cotton or cotton/silk blend fabric in a coral pink and ivory batik like print, completely embellished in swirling shimmering designs of silver bugle and seed beads.
Sleeveless bodice with bateau neckline front and low scooped back.
Empire waist with seaming that curves up to a point at the neckline, accentuating the bust.
Seaming through mid section creates the shapely curve hugging fit.
Back nylon zipper with hook and eye closure.
Bodice is lined in self fabric.
Skirt is lined in pink silk.
Label reads " Wilson Folmar" and "Edward Abbott"
According to the Vintage Fashion Guild Label Resource "Wilson Folmar was the head designer of the custom department at exclusive department store Jay – Thorpe from 1936 – 1956.
He also designed for Ben Gam and Maurice Rentner in the 50s, and in 1957, became the designer for Edward Abbott.
In 1964, he formed his own company, Wilson Folmar, Inc., which produced a line of medium to high priced cocktail and evening clothes. The company went out of business in 1972."

Excellent condition.
Some loose beading has been tightened.
Looks like there may be a couple of areas where beading is missing, but it's difficult to tell because of the intricate design.
Dress has been taken in along the back seam. So there's a good two inches of seam to be let out if desired.
A skilled seamstress could easily alter this back to its larger size.
The zipper is nicely handstitched into the dress.
