40's VINTAGE SILK GLAMOUR GOWN W/LACE ILLUSION BODICE
This sexy, sultry 40s gown looks like something a silver screen siren like Rita Hayworth would have worn. Medium weight, lustrous black satiny silk. The liquid qualilty of this beautiful fabric will mold to every curve. A very special outfit for a very special black tie event.
Back yoke, top of shoulder and bust of embroidered lace.
Illusion netting in bust area.
Sweetheart neckline with satin ties on both sides.
Neckline is elasticized in shoulder area to hold dress in place.
Long sleeves with six satin covered button and loop closures.
Seaming through bodice and a slightly dropped waist.
Straight column skirt.
Waist drops to a V in back, where skirt is gathered, accentuating the curve of the hips and derriere.
Two attached panels float provocatively behind as you walk.
15" black metal zipper begins just below back yoke.
I am guessing from the quality construction and style, that this was a designer gown, but just the "Saks Fifth Avenue" label remains.

This dress is in excellent condition. A couple of areas of the embroidery have been retacked. Otherwise dress looks like it was never worn. It's just waiting for its next grand entrance!
