50S PETAL SHELF BUST FLORAL SATEEN FULL SKIRT DRESS
Enchanting 50's vintage sundress in a romantic watercolor floral print cotton sateen. A masterpiece of femininity, it is perfect for an informal garden wedding, dinner date or summer cocktail party.
Painterly flowers in shades of fuschia, pale pink, lavender, aqua and olive green against a white background. The fabric is truly gorgeous. These sateen prints are rarely seen in clothing today.
Fitted bodice has four rows of seaming through mid section.
Flattering dropped waistline.
Shelf bust in aqua sateen is overlaid with floral print fabric petals, each one individually constructed, pleated, then sewn onto bodice in an overlapping pattern.
Pleated aqua banding, with center bow, frames the bust area.
Floral print straps.
Boning front and back.
Yards and yards of fabric comprise the very full, gathered tea length skirt that has a 240" sweep!
Side metal zipper closure.
Measurements-
Bust 37" (16 1/2" across widest part of back, 20 1/2" across fullest part of bust)
Natural waist 29"(approx. 16" from top of shoulder strap)
Dropped waist seam sits a couple of inches below natural waist.

Waist seam to hem 31"
Looks like the straps were either shortened or lengthened, then resewn in front. The strap fabric got a little twisted after laundering dress, but after pressing they will sit flat when wearing.
There is an attached lightweight acetate slip that's not in good condition(small holes, hem was cut) It could easily be removed, as it isn't necessary with the dress. The overall condition is excellent. The fabric is still beautiful and unfaded. All seams are tight. There are no flaws that detract from the wearability or appearance of the dress.
