50's BLACK EYELET FULL SKIRT SHIRTWAIST DRESS
Not your typical "June Cleaver" 50s housewife dress. This is more appropriate for someone like Bettie Page.
If a shirtwaist dress could ever be considered sexy, this would be it.
Done in a medium weight black floral embroidered eyelet cotton. With no lining the possiblities are endless as to the slip colors you can wear beneath for different effects. We just added a white petticoat for contrast, making it easier to see the eyelet design in the photos. But dress would look smashing with pink or red slip showing through.
The fitted bodice has short sleeves that we've cuffed up in the pictures.
Dress closes with black pearly plastic buttons, a hook and eye and a snap at the opening on skirt, below waistline.
Skirt is semi full with a 90" sweep.
Pleating at waist seam.
Original belt included.
Actual garment measurements-
Bust 40" (meant to be worn a bit loosely)
Waist 28"
Shoulder to waist 16 1/2"
Waist to hem 29"
Excellent condition. No flaws noted that affect wearability or appearance.
We are including a deadstock vintage black nylon full length slip with the dress.
