50's LILAC LACE STRAPLESS SHELF BUST FORMAL DRESS
Postively enchanting wedding, formal or prom dress from the 1950's has all the mid-century design elements that create the ever so desirable "New look" silhouette that Dior made famous.
Floral lace in a pale lilac/lavender color over matching taffeta.
The always flattering strapless sweetheart bodice is pleated at mid bust, with shelf type bust of pleated tulle peaking out from behind the lace layer.
Boning stays front and back for added support.
Slightly dropped basque waistline comes to a point in center.
Yards and yards of lace comprise the full flared skirt. There is a layer of matching tulle between the lace and taffeta layers. The taffeta layer also has a tulle ruffle at the hem.
Side metal zipper closure.
Matching short bolero jacket has a peter pan collar and long fitted sleeves that come to a point over the hand and close with three snaps.
Jacket closes in front with lace covered buttons.
