50's PAT PREMO BLUE GINGHAM CHECK FULL SKIRT SUNDRESS
Pat Premo originally worked for Peggy Hunt before starting her own line in the late 1940's. She was one of the original innovators of what became know as "California Style" fashions.
This lovely vintage party dress from the 50s showcases her preference for unusual fabrics and horizontal stripes.
Fine medium weight cotton in a powder blue tiny gingham check pattern has textured horizontal zig zag stripes running across.
Solid powder blue banding circles the armholes and trims the top of gathered neckline.
Fitted bodice has a dropped waistline that sits at the top of hip area, trimmed in blue banding that ties in the back.
Just above the dropped waist there are four horizontal tucks in the fabric.
Very full skirt has tiny pleating at waistline.
There is an attached white taffeta underslip with a powder blue cotton band at hem.
Back metal zipper closure.
