50's WHITE PIQUE FULL SWING DRESS W/PINK TRIM
A lovely romantic summer party dress from the 1950's in that extremely flattering "New Look" style with its fitted bodice and full, flared skirt.
Made in Miami, where some of the prettiest sundresses in the world were produced. Back in the day Miami became the hotspot of the jet set crowd and many companies sprang up to supply them with the the fashionable resort wear they needed for their new vacation playground.
The fabric is a crisp, heavier weight white waffle weave cotton pique.
The sleeveless bodice has a deeply scooped neckline front and back.
Closes in front with rounded white translucent plastic buttons.
Six horizontal bands of pink fabric accent the dress nicely.
The skirt is flared and very full, with a 150" sweep.
Label reads "Serbin of Miami"
With the addition of the proper accessories, perhaps a wide brimmed hat trimmed in flowers, short pink gloves and matching pumps, this dress would surely be perfect for a casual garden wedding.
Shown with petticoat and belt for display purposes. Sold separately.
