60's BEJEWELED RICH HIPPIE PSYCHEDELIC PALAZZO JUMPSUIT
Outstanding example of the youthcentric fashions popular during the 1960s and early 70s. In the "Age of Aquarius" designers found their inspiration in the street styles of the counterculture. It was all about being different, unique, not part of the establishment. Neon colors, tie dye, beads, intricate embellishments and bold graphics were in. Hippies, bohemians and mods ruled.
This fabulous palazzo style cotton jumpsuit completely captures the spirit of that time with its amazing psychedelic batik print in shades of purple, magenta, hot pink, turquoise, ochre, white and lime green.
Just looking at it makes me want to redecorate my house with Jimi Hendrix posters, black lights and incense burners!
The fitted, sleeveless bodice has drop pleating originating at the shoulder seams.
The back neckline is bordered in contrasting bands of fabric for an interesting design detail.
Deep V neckline front.
Waistline is embellished with metallic gold cording, faux jewels and pearls.
Each super wide pant leg has a hem sweep of 144", creating the illusion of a dress. The amazing border print is cut on the bias so the pattern meets in a chevron type pattern toward the center.
There is a back nylon zipper closure.
The bodice is lined in self fabric.
Pants are lined in a lightweight hot pink nylon taffeta.
There is a blue union label inside the bodice and a tag stapled inside one of the legs handwritten with the name Paul Cooper.
