60's OSCAR DE LA RENTA PINK/GOLD METALLIC EVENING GOWN
Famed designer, Oscar De La Renta, started his own line in 1965 after working for Elizabeth Arden, Balenciaga, Antonio Castillo. and Lanvin.
In the 60s and early 70s he translated the ethnic, bohemian, hippie looks so popular at the time into the elegant, ornate and romantic evening wear that he is most noted for.
This amazing 60s evening dress, with it's pink and shimmery gold metallic lame paisley brocade fabric demonstrates his preference for opulent textiles, fitted bodices and full gathered skirts. Certainly a striking outfit for a special event or formal wedding.
The fabric is lightweight, with pink taffeta lining the bodice and organza lining the skirt.
Full sleeves have snap closures at cuffs.
Back nylon zipper is hand stitched into dress, as is the lining.

Detected a few very small runs/pulls on the pink part of the fabric. A couple on each sleeve and one just below neckline. Not easily detectable and doesn't affect appearance or wearability at all.
Dress is in overall excellent condition.
