HANAE MORI PRINT SILK CHIFFON DRESS/KAFTAN OVERLAY
World renowned for her timeless “east meet west” fashions and stunning asian inspired silk prints, in 1977 Hanae Mori became the only Japanese member of the "Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture", the governing body of French fashion.
This lovely full length 70s dress, with matching caftan overlay, has many elements of her famous signature style. Yards of diaphonous silk chiffon were used in the creation of this exquisite multi layered gown. Shades of pale pink, peach, deep coral, black , aqua and ivory combine in a brilliant bamboo and cherry blossom print.
The gown has cut away sleeves and a banded neckline with slight gathering. Below the printed chiffon layer is a layer of peach silk chiffon, then a peach color silky rayon slip with a side slit. The waist is slightly fitted, then skirt falls to a flared A line shape.
Attached at the neckline is a sheer matching silk print chiffon caftan type overlay that floats over the dress.
Back nylon zipper closure with hooks and eyes. Overlay closes with tiny snaps.
Very fine quality construction with lots of hand finishing inside.
