MOLLIE PARNIS 1950s SILK CHIFFON FULL SKIRT DRESS
Mollie Parnis was noted for her well made, feminine, classic style clothing. Her designs were worn by several first ladies, including Mamie Eisenhauer and Rosalynn Carter.
This 1950's cocktail dress is a lovely example of the ladylike dresses she was known for.
Gorgeous, sheer black silk chiffon floats beautifully over the luxurious black silk slip dress beneath.
Bodice of slipdress has boning front and back for support.
Chiffon bodice has rows of horizontal pintucks and alternating bands of delicate lace.
The chiffon skirt is gathered at waist and is double the fullness of the skirt beneath.
There are two side metal zipper closures, one for the chiffon dress and one for the heavier silk slip dress underneath.
Grossgrain ribbon with hook and eye closures is handstitched inside the waistband.
A beautifully made dress in pristine condition.
