About the Owner

For 15 years, Theresa Campbell McKee’s career as a caterer and personal chef on private luxury yachts took her from Martha’s Vineyard to Miami, the Bahamas and beyond. At various ports of call, to keep her passion for the past afloat, she began collecting vintage clothing and selling them on a part-time basis, eager for the day she could turn her favorite pastime into a full-time business . In 2002, she retired from her culinary pursuits and settled in Stuart, Florida, just north of Palm Beach, where she launched the Blue Velvet Vintage ™ website.

Theresa is an enthusiastic advocate for preserving the past by creatively incorporating it into the modern day lifestyle, both for aesthetic and environmental reasons. "My vintage business offers customers a fun and chic way to recycle, while enabling me to share my love of the past with like-minded individuals," she says.

Over the years, some of those like-minded individuals have joined the business, but more than likely it will be Theresa you hear from when you have a question. Need help pulling together an outfit for a special occasion? Looking for tips on how to achieve the correct look for a certain time period? She will be more than happy to add her personal touch to assist you. If what you require isn’t in her current inventory, she’ll do her best to find it for you through her network of vintage resources in Florida. With her combined knowledge of party planning and vintage fashion, Theresa can even offer helpful suggestions on props, décor and menus for your vintage-themed event.

About our Vintage Reproduction Clothing

There have always been particular vintage styles that were consistently requested by our customers, but not always available in their size. That’s how our exclusive signature line of  vintage reproduction clothing was born. They’re our modern interpretations of classic mid-century styles, re-created from authentic vintage outfits in Theresa’s collection.

Designed for women who love the feminine, figure flattering looks of the 40s and 50s, but can’t always find the right fit in their favorite style .Our dresses are unapologetically pretty, combining playful sophistication with ladylike sex appeal.

Keeping with the original hourglass silhouettes, the patterns were painstakingly reworked to accommodate modern figures. In an era of cheaply made, fast fashion and a throwaway mentality, we strive to offer our customers garments with attractive price points, that are manufactured in the USA using only the best quality fabrics and construction.
