50’s Style Wedding Dresses

Sunday, June 1st, 2008

Since June is the traditional wedding month, and with vintage themed weddings becoming more and more popular,  I thought I'd do some research on where brides could find vintage and vintage style attire.  The first website I'd like to recommend is Dolly Couture where you can order gorgeous 50's reproduction wedding dresses a la Audrey Hepburn and Grace Kelly.  Classic silhouettes in a shorter length, they're perfect for semi-formal weddings, and are certainly glamorous enough to create an especially memorable vintage look for the big day!

Priced very reasonably between $300 and $400.  For a bit more, you can even have custom dresses designed as well.
Pictured below are a few of their classic creations.

New Additions- Sexy Bettie Page Wiggle Dresses

Saturday, April 19th, 2008

Just added a couple of new styles to my website from the Bettie Page Clothing Line, both fabulous curve hugging wiggle dresses that give you that 50s hourglass shape.  The fabric used has a bit of stretch to help mold to your figure and they actually used metal zippers in these, which is unusual for a vintage reproduction dress.

This first one is called the "Captain" and is an adorable sailor style dress in navy blue with white satin trim and belt.

And what vintage style loving lady doesn’t like leopard print?  This dress has an understated sensuality and I love the contrasting red fabric.

Introducing the “Satin Doll” 50’s Style Party Dresses

Friday, November 2nd, 2007

I’m so excited. The latest additon to my vintage reproduction dress line  has just arrived.  After months of tweaking the pattern and several samples later,  I’m totally thrilled with how they finally turned out.

The 50’s inspired halter style swing dress has been created in two colors, a  beautifu gold floral embroideredl black duchess satin with gold piping trim and a red on red metallic embroidered satin with black velvet piping trim.  I think the piping really accents the dresses nicely. I’ve also designed the halter straps to have pleating to add a little extra interest at the neckline.

The name of this style is the "Satin Doll" after one of my favorite big band tunes. These will be great for holiday parties and dances.

As usual, the construction of these garments is top notch and they’re made right here in the good old USA!
