Newly redesigned Blue Velvet Vintage website

Well it’s finally up! We’ve been waiting quite a while for this site redesign. Please have a look at the new Blue Velvet Vintage and let me know what you think. We went for a more feminine vintage vibe that reflects the retro glamorous look we strive for in all our clothing, whether it be new “vintage inspired” or authentic.

There is now a faster one page checkout and a much better site search to make it easier to find just what you’re looking for.

We also have bigger images, all the better to see details more closely.

There are still some details that need ironing out, but overall I’m pretty happy with it.

Retro Party Dresses just added

Here’s an update on some yummy retro party dresses and gowns we’ve just added to the Blue Velvet Vintage website. Click on images for more information on each dress.

This one shoulder beauty reminds me of those chic chiffon cocktail dresses so popular back in the 50s and early 60s. Prong set rhinestones decorate the waistband.

We’ve also just added another one shoulder dress in a sexy curve hugging mermaid style. Mermaid gowns are timeless classics that conjure up images of glamorous Hollywood starlets of the 40s and 50s. Chiffon over silky satin in a beautiful caribbean ocean blue color with beading detail and pouffy tulle netting to fill out the mermaid hem nicely.

I really love this adorable little 50s/60s inspired polka dot dress. Very Betty Draper of Mad Men. The medium to heavyweight cotton faille fabric gives the dress a nice tailored silhouette.

Here is a fantastic scarlet red chiffon 40’s inspired evening gown that’s perfect for a dressy holiday event. Sexy shoulder baring halter style with pleated bust, and princess seaming for a flattering fit and flared silhouette. Pretty floral applique with beading and rhinestones add just the right touch of sparkle. It is also available in burgundy, black and ivory.

Sabina Kelley Looks Amazing in one of our Gowns!

I was so flattered when Sabina Kelley, the famous international pinup model and burlesque dancer, contacted me about wearing one of our vintage style evening gowns to wear for her 2010 pin up calender.

The purple satin mermaid dress she chose had that perfect 40s old hollywood look for the shot. Of course, the gorgeous Sabina looked positively amazing in it and her photographer, Brian Brown, did a smashing job of capturing the classic glamour of a bygone era.
