Luxe velvet "New Look" coat from the late 40s has a flattering nipped in waist and a spectacular cape collar.
Collar is edged in a wide band of velvet with vertical stitching.
Princess seaming through bodice becomes the full, gored skirt.
Doublebreasted style with two velvet buttons.
Hidden side seam pockets.
Sumptuous, deep black velvet, which I'm 90% certain is silk. Definitely not cotton velvet and doesn't have the feel of rayon. Because I had to lighten the photos to show details, the pictures do not do the fabric justice.
Black satin lining.
Label reads "J. Klienfeld and Sons, First in Fashion, Brooklyn"

To ensure proper fit, your own measurements should be no more than 36 in the bust and 28 in the waist.
A section of lining had to be retacked around inside neckline. Otherwise excellent condition.
