50's BLACK SILK EYELET TAFFETA FULL SKIRT PARTY DRESS

A seriously smashing vintage 50's evening dress in a crisp black silk eyelet taffeta.
Classic "New Look" silhouette with waist enhancing fitted bodice and voluminous full gathered ballet length or tea length skirt.
Flattering sweetheart neckline, with embroidered scalloped edge, sits almost off the shoulders. The pearly, taupe taffeta fabric that lines the bodice and top part of skirt is elasticized at the shoulders to keep the dress in place.
Short, almost caplike sleeves.
Gathers at center bust area.
Vertical darts originating from waist seam contribute to the figure hugging fit.
The skirt is comprised of two gathered tiers, the first tier being a border of eyelet fabric just below the waistline, creating a dropped waist effect.
The border has the same scalloped edging as the neckline and the full gathered skirt is attached from there.
Side metal zipper closure.
We've used two petticoats to display the fullness. Not included.

Some very faint underarm discoloration on lining only.
Three miniscule holes near hemline were backed with matching fabric to stabilize.
