Beach Pajamas outfit for Roaring 20s Lawn Party

Time for another yearly post about the Roaring Twenties Lawn Party held at the Crane Estate in Ipswich Ma.  This is one of my favorite vintage themed events that I attend. It’s a weekend affair with tons of activities,  beach parties, great bands playing jazz era music, dancing, charleston lessons, picnics, vendors selling all kinds of vintage goodies, […]

Holeproof Hosiery ad

You’ve seen it dozens of times at costume parties and maybe even wore them yourself for a 1920s costume.  I know I have. But the real flappers of the Roaring Twenties did not wear black fishnet stockings with their dresses.  Nor did any other women back then. Mail Order Memories-1955 Spring/Summer Spiegel Catalog (Part 1)

speigel catalog cover 1955

Am so very excited about my recent flea market finds.  I came across not one, but two,  Spiegel catalogs from 1955 and 1956.  I frequently find vintage fashion magazines to purchase,  but it’s pretty darn rare to find mail order catalogs in good condition and at bargain prices,  never mind two on the same day. Needless to say I was stoked!

In […]
